Trifolium pratense
( Clover )
| Pratense is a mat-forming perennial with 3-palmate leaves. Produces dense, spherical to ovoid, axillary, spike-like racemes and pink flowers. Also sold in plant nurseries as Dolly North or Goldnet. In general, Trifolium has many species, most of them cover crops. They are excellent for overwintering vacant land, as they are nitrogen fixing. Some can be used effectively for ground cover or as lawn substitutes. The foliage is the typical three-leaved clover, very occasionally four. Require full sun to partial shade and regular moisture. |
